With voter approval, this School Funding Election will keep our property tax rate XX¢ cents lower than X years ago due to a series of tax cuts approved by our District leaders.
It’s important to note that homeowners sixty-five years of age and older who have filed their homestead exemption will never see an increase in their property tax rates.
Previous funding cuts in Austin, plus the property tax reduction approved this year by the Texas Legislature, have increased the burden of funding public schools on local taxpayers.
While the state has not made up the difference in the lost school funding over the past decade, local voters are allowed to recoup the lost classroom, safety, teacher, and student funding with local School Funding Referendums.
