“With our academic and fine arts excellence, athletic victories, and our administration’s success in wisely managing our tax dollars, it’s a special time to be a Barbers Hill Eagle.

More students than ever before are graduating with real world job skills and our talented fine arts students and athletes are winning awards and competitions. We’ve enacted proactive security measures to protect every campus and we’ve won multiple awards for financial efficiency and transparency.

Of course, we cannot get complacent with our successes. Our commitment to current and future generations is why our Board of Trustees is looking to place a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election on the November ballot. It’s also known as a School Funding Election.

With the Texas Legislature passing a comprehensive tax bill cutting state funds for our district, the School Funding Election allows our voters to make up for the lost state revenue while keeping our property tax rate 5.2¢ lower than the 2022 rate.

These funds would be used to maintain our state-leading high teacher salaries, sustain programs that improve safety and security on every campus, and reinforce our award-winning academic, fine arts and job training offerings.

Over the coming weeks we will provide you with additional information so you can make an informed vote on the future of our district. I look forward to seeing you at the polls this November.”
